Missional Moms

What are Moms Groups doing?

Does your church have a moms’ group of some sort? Please email Nan Lingenfelter (nlingenfelter@charter.net) information about your group:

  1. What church are you connected to?
  2. What is the name of your group?
  3. What is the leader’s name and contact information?
  4. When do you meet?
  5. What is the format of your group?
  6. May we post your group information on our website?

When women ask us about starting a Moms Group, we can tell them about the various groups and point them to this website.

The Evangelical Covenant Church has a book titled The Missional Mom. The book provides a thoughtful and inspiring perspective on what it means to be a purposeful mother, one who not only loves her kids but who wants to make a difference in the world. This book will challenge you toward counter-cultural, mission-driven living through the stories and examples of many mothers who are demonstrating these ideas in their own life.

The Missional Mom also affirms Christian mothers who desire to not only build their families in a Christ-like way, but also engage the world with their skills, abilities, and interests. It both values the importance of a woman’s role in her home and encourages her to heed the stirrings God has planted within her to extend her influence, both within and outside the walls of her home.

The book was authored by award-winning Christian journalist Helen Lee, who is a frequent conference and church speaker on the topic of missional motherhood and family; she currently serves as an associate editor at InterVarsity Press.
